Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Orthopedic nursing experience required (minimum 3 years).
- Previous travel nursing experience required.
- This is a backfill position.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.
- Minimum 3 years of orthopedic nursing experience.
- Prior travel nursing experience required.
- Current certifications as applicable, including but not limited to:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI accepted.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI accepted.
- Additional certifications may be required depending on the unit or specialty area.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Copy of valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days).
- Required federal and state background screenings.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date, updated annually.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
- 12-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start.
- Influenza and COVID-19 vaccination exemption forms available for medical or religious reasons.
- References: Two professional references required.
Competencies
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as required by specialty.
- Specialty-specific competency exams as applicable.
Additional Notes
- Some units may require additional certifications such as PALS, NRP, CPI, or NIH Stroke Certification.
- Facility-specific orientation and training requirements must be completed prior to or during the assignment.
- Respirator fit testing may be required annually.
This position is ideal for experienced orthopedic RNs with prior travel experience seeking a contract role in Louisiana.
