Job Description

• Orthopedic nursing experience required (minimum 3 years).
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• This is a backfill position.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.
• Minimum 3 years of orthopedic nursing experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Current certifications as applicable, including but not limited to:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI accepted.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI accepted.
• Additional certifications may be required depending on the unit or specialty area.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Copy of valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days).
• Required federal and state background screenings.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date, updated annually.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
• 12-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start.
• Influenza and COVID-19 vaccination exemption forms available for medical or religious reasons.
• References: Two professional references required.

Competencies

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as required by specialty.
• Specialty-specific competency exams as applicable.

Additional Notes

• Some units may require additional certifications such as PALS, NRP, CPI, or NIH Stroke Certification.
• Facility-specific orientation and training requirements must be completed prior to or during the assignment.
• Respirator fit testing may be required annually.

This position is ideal for experienced orthopedic RNs with prior travel experience seeking a contract role in Louisiana.
