Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Tele

Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work on a busy Medical-Surgical/Telemetry floor
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:45 AM - 07:15 PM)
• No on-call required
• May be required to float to other Med Surg/Telemetry units or low-acuity ICU

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Government-issued photo ID carried during hours of service
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start
• COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption prior to start
• Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31), no exemptions accepted
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Completed employment application/resume
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty

Additional Notes

• Must pass Epic test-out prior to or shortly after start; only one attempt allowed
• N95 fit test required within 1 year, no PAPR allowed
• Floating to ICU is low acuity and may be required

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with recent Epic experience looking for a travel assignment on a Med Surg/Telemetry unit with a consistent 3x12 schedule.
