Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Chesterfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Medical Surgical nursing role with a focus on strong orthopedic experience.
• Requires 2 years of nursing experience.
• Must hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Must have an active nursing license in hand.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Strong orthopedic nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including a 7-year history, SSN verification, national sex offender registry, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, and education verification.
• State-specific background checks for Missouri (MO EDL and MO FCSR searches).
• Education verification of highest degree earned.
• Physical exam signed by a physician or advanced practice provider within the last year (renew annually).
• Fit mask certification (3M N95 or PAPR) within 1 year of start (renew annually).
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years.
  • Negative TB test (Qgold or Tspot) within 12 months or chest x-ray if previously positive.
  • Annual TB questionnaire.
  • Measles, Mumps, Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series.
  • Hepatitis B: Proof of series, positive titer, or declination.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required by November 4th or mask-wearing if declined (declinations require approval).
• Drug screening: 9-panel including marijuana within 30 days of start (instant acceptable, renew annually).
• Color blindness testing (online) required for all travelers.
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam with minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with 80% pass rate (required for Telemetry, Stepdown, PCU, ICU, ER nurses).
• References: 2 supervisor-level references required, with at least one within 1 year of start.

Additional Notes

• Employment application with 7 years of work history and explanation of any gaps over 30 days is required.
• Confidentiality statement must be signed prior to start.
• Flu vaccine declination form required if applicable.
• All documentation must be completed and uploaded timely to meet facility compliance deadlines.
