Position Details
- Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
- Location: Oakland, California
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 19:00 - 7:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Float: Yes, to Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Photo ID: Valid Driver’s License or Passport (color photo, clearly visible)
- Background Checks: Completed within 90 days prior to start, including:
- SSN Trace
- 7-year Nationwide, County, and National Criminal searches
- FACIS Level 3
- National Sex Offender Registry
- OIG Sanction Search
- OFAC and SAM.gov checks
- Education Verification: Third-party verification of highest education level; must be complete before start
- Physical Exam: Within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, NP, or APRN confirming good health and ability to perform job duties
- Fit Mask Test: Within 90 days of start; acceptable masks include 3M 8210, 3M 1860S, 3M 1860R; PAPR accepted if fit test failed (proof required)
- Immunizations & Health Requirements:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or signed declination (TD not accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray updated annually (IGRA or 2-step PPD)
- TB Questionnaire updated annually
- Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive IgG titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella (boosters required if titers low/equivocal)
- Positive Hepatitis B titer or proof of vaccination series or signed declination
- Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive IgG titer (boosters required if titers low/equivocal)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or signed declination (masking required during flu season Nov 1 - Mar 31)
- Drug Testing: Oral saliva drug screen within 30 days of start; rapid tests not accepted; must cover specified analytes including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, opiates, oxycodone, PCP
- Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology competency exam and other facility-required competencies must be completed on the first day of work
- Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo, no filters, required for badge issuance
- References: Two professional references required (Aya Healthcare requirement)
- Employment History: Resume covering last 7 years and verification of past 3 years of employment required
