Shift Details

• Night shift, 3 shifts per week
• Shift hours: 18:45 to 7:15 (12-hour shifts)
• 36 hours per week
• Requires working every other weekend and 50% of holidays

Unit and Float Information

• Work in a Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, and STEMI Emergency Department (ED)
• Pediatric ED located within the main ED
• Float between ED and ED Observation units
• Psych center associated but no floating to psych

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification

Physical and Work Environment Demands

• Active role requiring ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
• Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses
• Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year
• Rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather required
• Must be able to take call and work assigned weekends and holidays

Required Background and Screening

• 7-year background check required within 60 days of start
• MO Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or MO Caregiver search must be on file within 60 days; cannot start with both pending
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions checks required within 60 days
• International background check required if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years
• Drug screening: Negative 7-panel drug test required within 60 days of start
• Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required
• Employment application with detailed 7-year work history and references required

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, initiated within 48 hours of signing
• Fit mask test valid within 1 year (specific mask types required)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually; special requirements for positive TB history
• Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved medical/religious exemption required (for candidates signed on or after 7/1/2023)
• Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer required; declinations no longer accepted for new candidates signed on or after 7/1/2023
• Varicella, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella immunization or titers required with no declinations accepted; medical exemptions require facility approval
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/01 - 03/31)

• Ability to work full term at assigned location
• Must be able to work substantial portion of assigned shifts
• Must be able to work call, weekends, and holidays as assigned
