Job Opportunity: PTA Home Health
Location
- Kennewick, Washington
- Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from home clinic, primarily covering Benton and Franklin counties
- Estimated travel: 100-150 miles per week
Employment Type
- Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8 hours)
- No weekend rotation
- No on-call required
Patient Load & Productivity
- Average 5-6 patients per day
- Weekly productivity expectations: 25-30 units
- Types of cases: Start of Care, Follow Ups
Specialty & Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Physical Therapist Assistant - PTA)
- Minimum 1 full year of recent Adult Home Health experience required
- First-time home health travelers not accepted
- One completed travel assignment
- Experience in a Home Health setting
- Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last year
Certifications & Licenses
- Current PTA license required (must have license in hand; pending licenses accepted only if a few days from issuance)
- Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Washington
- CPR and BLS certification required (AHA, National CPR Foundation, or ARC accepted)
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Equipment & Documentation
- Must have reliable transportation and current driver’s license
- Driver's License
- Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate (patient-to-patient travel compensated; commute to/from first and last patient not billable)
- Use of EMR system: HCHB
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Background checks covering last 7 years of residence/employment/schooling, including SS trace, county, nationwide, sex offender, and state-specific searches as applicable
- Drug screening: 10-panel required
- Physical exam within 12 months confirming good health and no communicable disease symptoms
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (no pending results at start)
- Immunization or titer proof for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella per standard requirements
- Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required
- COVID-19 vaccination series or declination required
- Education verification for applicable degree
- Verification of at least two most recent employers or last 7 years of work history
- Two professional references required

- Compliance training and quizzes
- HIPAA and healthcare compliance laws review
- Home Health Core Policy review and acknowledgements
- TB questionnaire and risk assessment (if applicable)

- No guaranteed hours; if patient census is low, contractor may be floated to a nearby clinic to pick up hours
- Weekend and on-call requirements vary by location; discuss during interview
