Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or ENPC
- TNCC or T-CAR
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Pass/Fail testing for medication and dysrhythmia/EKG competency
- Tdap
Required Pre-Start Items
- Background check
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Physical exam
- Fit test
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- Drug test
- Hepatitis B documentation or declination
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Photo for badge
- Job description acknowledgment
- Non-employee internet access form
- NESF form
Additional Notes
- NIH Stroke Certification may be completed within 30 days of hire
- Medication and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams must be completed within 30 days of start
- Forensic evidence collection training is required for ER RNs in Texas
