Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU

Work Schedule
- Day shift
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Total 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications
- Ohio State license required for RRTs
- Prefer close to 2 years of experience in specialty
- 2 professional supervisory references required (1 must be a supervisor or manager; peer references not accepted)
- Floating to other units is required for most positions
- NBRC certification required for RRTs
- Current government-issued photo ID matching legal name on license and certifications
- Passing scores on medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable
Certifications (must be AHA or equivalent, name must exactly match legal name and license)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) if applicable
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) if applicable
- State license verification required within 30 days of start
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked)
- Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or equivalent
- Fingerprinting (OH BCI/FBI) within 60 days of start; must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing contract
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Sex offender search within 30 days of start
- State-specific searches including Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, Inmate Registry, Medicaid Exemption, and Abuse Registry within 30 days of start
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days prior to start
- Employment application and copy of resume required
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within last year; TB questionnaire required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (one dose as adult) required; titer not accepted in place of vaccine record
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity via positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination required
- Varicella immunity via positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titer negative or equivocal
- Seasonal flu vaccine required between October 31 and May 31; medical/religious exemptions accepted with facility approval
- N95 fit testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually; must use approved mask models; onsite testing allowed if prior testing not completed
- Infection control policy review and signature required prior to start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (agency standard; not required by facility if infection control policy signed)
Additional Notes
- Legal name on all documents must match license and certifications exactly (including middle name if applicable)
- Temporary IDs or paper driver’s licenses are not acceptable for ID verification
- Ohio driver’s license address must not be within 60 miles of the facility to avoid being considered local
