Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Nights, 3 or 4 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 7:15)
  • Schedule: Weekends every other week (EOW) and holidays as needed
  • Unit: Intermediate Care (IMC)
  • Floating: May be asked to float to rehab if needed
  • Patient Population: May care for COVID patients
  • Facility Environment: Tobacco and fragrance-free

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years Registered Nurse experience
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
  • Certifications Required:
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required

Orientation & Screening

  • Candidates will undergo a clinical pre-screen to determine fit.
  • Final decision made by unit manager after interview.
  • No scheduling requests may be approved.
  • Return to Office (RTO) maximum of 7 days (no RTO over 7 days).

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search (must be finalized prior to start)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (if applicable)
  • BLS (required)
  • PALS, NRP, TNCC (as applicable)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)
  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (pass/fail exam required for all RNs except OR and Home Health)
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required for all RNs except OR and Home Health
  • State License primary source verification
  • NURSYS verification for RN license

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption or declination accepted
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Facility-Specific Documents

  • Passport-style photo for badge (professional appearance, solid background)
  • Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form within 90 days of start
  • Commitment to Health & Wellness, Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Non-Employee Affidavit (all must be reviewed and signed)
  • I9 and E-Verify or attestation
  • Learning Management System (LMS) modules completion required for RNs before start
  • Hepatitis B declination form if applicable

State-Specific Requirements (Pennsylvania)

  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (Childline) within 5 years; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days
  • Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Fingerprint results within 5 years; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days
  • Pennsylvania PATCH Search results must be finalized prior to start

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of experience, comfortable working night shifts in an Intermediate Care setting, with EPIC experience and required certifications. Prior travel experience is not mandatory. The facility maintains strict compliance and health documentation standards.
