Job Opportunity: PICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Nights, 36 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP, ideally within 4-6 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (PICU)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years as a PICU RN
- Prior Travel Experience: At least 12 months (1 year) of prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
- Pediatric ICU experience is required and will be considered essential
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only; PEARS accepted in lieu of PALS for RNs (except Behavioral Health RNs)
- Missouri and Kansas State RN License or Compact License

Required Qualifications & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID required on site
- Background checks including county, statewide, and sex offender searches for Missouri and Kansas
- E-Verify proof required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) not required for this RN position
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
- Medication calculation/dosage competency test during orientation (100% pass required)
- Pediatric pharmacology competency exam required
- Color Blind Testing required
- References: 2 supervisory references or performance evaluations within 1 year of start
- Pediatric skills checklist required
- Physical exam and immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine for current season) required
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
- TB testing and questionnaire required annually
- Missouri Highway Patrol Check required
- Facility-specific health forms and questionnaires must be completed prior to start

- Scrub colors: Any kid-friendly color or pattern
- Parking: Free with permit
- Must be able to start within 4-6 weeks from job offer
- This is a night shift position with 36 hours per week
