Job Description
- Desired start date: February 23rd (may consider March 9th)
- Must be available for the first two weeks of the assignment
- No call requirement
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: As needed
- Float to other units including MedSurg (MS), ICU, and ED Waiting to take MedSurg patients as needed
- Patient ratio: 1:6
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1.5 years MedSurg or PCU experience
- Strong post-surgical competencies required
- Must be comfortable with patient ratios of 1:6
Licenses & Certifications
- Michigan RN License required
- BLS (AHA) required
- NIH Stroke Certification required
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP) — verify based on unit assignment

Required Documentation & Compliance
- Criminal background check within 45 days of start (lifetime search including SSN trace, national criminal, sex offender, statewide, education verification, MVR)
- E-Verify and I-9 documentation required
- Education verification (copy of highest degree or diploma)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Drug testing: 10-panel including Marijuana/THC within 30 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (proof of prior Tdap vaccine)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 30 days of start
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (for candidates starting after Nov 1)
- Fingerprinting (MI LARA) required within 45 days of start for certain positions/units
- Central Registry Clearance required for pediatric and certain specialty placements
- Completion of Bronson-specific documents such as Code of Conduct, Appearance Standards Policy, and others as applicable
Additional Requirements
- Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exam within 1 year prior to assignment start (passing score ≥ 80%)
- Competency exam in specialty within 1 year prior to start (passing score ≥ 80%)
- References: One professional reference from a supervisor or manager required
- Complete employment application/resume with full 7 years work history, no gaps
