Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (ICU Float Pool)
Location: Seattle, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a night shift ICU Float Pool position at a Level 1 Trauma Center teaching hospital. The nurse will float within scope to all critical care units.
Schedule
- Shift: Nights (1900 - 0730)
- Hours: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of critical care experience, including Level 1 Trauma Center experience
- Recent ICU experience within the last year
- Academic/Teaching facility experience required
- First-time travelers NOT accepted; strong ICU experience required
Required Certifications
- BCLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Telemetry proficiency with dysrhythmia interpretation and management (test required)
- Preferred: TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Required Skills
- Ventilator management
- IV starts
- Telemetry
- Conscious sedation
- Preferred skills: ICP monitoring, PA Lines
Licensure
- Active RN license in Washington State required (no pending licenses accepted)
Additional Requirements
- Must submit Return to Office (RTO) documentation prior to facility submission
- References must be from a direct supervisor (not a charge RN)
- Must pass a dysrhythmia competency exam prior to start (80% passing score, max 2 attempts)
- On-call not required
- Locals accepted
Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender, and State-specific searches required
- Education verification required
- WA State license complaint clearance required
- Photo for badge required
- Facility-specific forms and acknowledgments must be signed
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year (not required by facility but required by agency)
- Mask fit test within 12 months
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination allowed with documentation)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days (annual TB questionnaire required)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination with documentation
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Drug screening within 12 months (agency requirement)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccination or declination for tracking purposes
Competency Exams & Orientation
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (80% passing)
- Color blindness test required
- Orientation testing on-site (pass/fail, 80% passing)
- Additional facility-specific modules and annual stroke education required
