Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Willcox, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER)
• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratios: 1:2-3
• Charting Systems: MedHost and EDIS
• Unit Type: Level IV Trauma and rural Critical Access Hospital
• Float Requirement: No floating between units

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years of ER nursing experience
• First-time travelers accepted if they have 4+ years of experience
• Prior travel experience is NOT required

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Valid Arizona RN license or Compact RN license
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Special Requirements

• Experience working at a Level I Trauma Center
• Combined Adult and Pediatric Emergency Department experience

Required Documentation and Compliance

• Current Driver’s License/State ID (with address)
• Residency Declaration Form (if using compact license)
• Background check completed within 30 days of assignment start (including multi-county/state searches)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by physician, NP, or PA
• Fit testing for N95 mask within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years, declinations allowed except for pediatric units)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of vaccination or positive titer, no declinations)
  • Hepatitis B (proof of vaccination or positive titer, declinations allowed)
  • Varicella (proof of vaccination or positive titer, no declinations)
• Drug testing within 30 days of start (12 panel)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season Oct 1 - Apr 30)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) may be required depending on unit assignment
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 80%+)
• HIPAA competency (annual, passing score 80%+)
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification required for Pediatric ER

• 2 professional references from employment within the last 3 years (1 must be supervisory)
• Employment application with detailed work history for the last 7 years (explain gaps over 30 days)
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Facility-specific job description and orientation sign-offs required
