Job Opportunity: LVN / LPN - Outpatient Cardiology Clinic

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for an outpatient cardiology clinic
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
• No weekend shifts required
• Floating within skillset may be required
• Serves adult and geriatric patients
• Patients include those newly diagnosed with cardiac disease, post cardiac procedures, and on cardiac maintenance therapy under cardiologist care

Required Experience & Skills

• Specialty: Cardiology outpatient experience with basic cardiology skills
• Core clinical duties: Rooming patients, calling in prescriptions, returning patient calls, completing patient forms
• EPIC charting experience required
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required; acceptance of first-time travelers depends on candidate’s experience
• Locals are not accepted for this position

Licensure & Certifications

• Must hold an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license, or a single-state license from a non-compact state (pending license accepted under conditions)
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: 7-year background check required within 1 year of start
• E-Verify or attestation required
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start, confirming freedom from communicable diseases
• Fit Mask test within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Two clinical references required
• Complete employment application/resume required
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Photo for badge required (professional quality, no selfies or filters)

Additional Notes

• Call-off policy: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Return to Office (RTO) requests must be approved by the facility at booking
• Candidates must provide a valid Driver’s License/State ID within 48 hours of signing, with an address within 100 miles of the facility
• Orientation and compliance paperwork must be completed prior to start
• HIPAA training and competency exams required as applicable
