Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Job Description
- Provide physical therapy in an inpatient acute care setting
- Patient population primarily orthopedic and other diagnoses
- Schedule options: Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday
- Required certifications: BLS and California Physical Therapy License
- Required skills:
- Geriatrics
- Orthopedics
- Acute care
- Active Range of Motion (AROM)
- Assistive devices
- Strength testing
- Assessment and discharge planning
- Plan of Care (POC) development
- Time management
- Required experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Accepts first-time travelers (no prior travel experience required)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- California Physical Therapy License (current and unencumbered)
Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or others may be relevant depending on unit but are not explicitly required for this role.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid photo ID (Driver’s License or Passport)
- Background checks within 90 days prior to start, including:
- SSN Trace
- 7-year nationwide and county criminal searches
- National Sex Offender Registry
- OIG Sanction Search
- EPLS/GSA/SAM verification
- Education verification of highest degree completed (no pending verifications)
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, NP, or APRN confirming good health and ability to perform job duties
- Fit mask test within 90 days of start (3M 8210, 3M 1860S, or 3M 1860R masks accepted)
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or signed declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray updated annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive IgG titers)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or signed declination)
- Varicella (proof of 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer)
- Drug testing: Oral saliva drug screen within 30 days of start (specific analytes required)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination documentation required by November 6; masking required through flu season regardless of vaccination status
- Color blindness exam within 90 days of start (Ishihara test accepted)
Additional Requirements
- Employment history verification for the past 3 years
- Current resume including last 7 years of employment
- References as per agency requirements (not facility requirement)
- Completion of facility-specific competencies and new employee orientation modules on first day of work
- Badge photo (passport style, no filters) and signed badge photo agreement
Notes
- One request for release time off (RTO) will be approved
- No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are welcome
