Job Description

  • Care for patients with liver, kidney, and pancreatic diseases
  • Care for recipients of liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants
  • Manage patients with complex gastrointestinal disorders
  • Serve as a med-surg/telemetry overflow unit
  • Floating to other units as needed

Shift Details:

  • Days: 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM
  • Every other weekend

Requirements

  • California RN License
  • BLS Certification (AHA or ARC only)
  • Transplant experience specifically with liver, kidney, and pancreas
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must state "cleared for work")
  • Fit Mask Test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (or lifetime TDAP with booster)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30)
  • Color Blind Exam (in-person, if applicable)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance (not required for some roles)

Competency Exams (As applicable)

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (may be required for some telemetry units)
  • Unit-specific competency exams

  • Full 7 years of work history with no gaps, including city and state
  • Employment verification for up to 7 years required
  • References: 2 professional references for clinical/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care (Aya requirement only)
