Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Utica, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Unit: IMCU (5th Floor)
• Patient Ratio: Typically 4:1 depending on acuity; may be 5:1 if acuity is low
• Required Skills/Experience:

  • New York RN License
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • Drip experience including neo up to 100, precedex, and insulin at IMCU level of care
  • BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification
  • Epic electronic health record system experience required
• Return to Office (RTO): 7 days or less, with only 1 holiday allowed

Required Certifications & Training

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA strongly preferred
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA strongly preferred
• NIH Stroke Certification (valid for 2 years)
• Harassment Prevention Training Certificate (New York specific, annual)
• Competency Exams including Medication/Pharmacology and Dysrhythmia/EKG (for ICU, PCU, ER, CT ICU, and 7th Floor M/S Unit)
• Color Blind Testing (required prior to start)

Licenses & Verifications

• Valid New York State RN License (primary source verification required)
• Education Verification
• Background Checks including 7-year search, SS trace, county searches, sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG (annual updates required)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam within 1 year of start
• Fit Mask Test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (specific documentation required)
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
• Drug Testing: 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination (required during flu season)
• Pneumonia Vaccination or Declination

  • 1 reference for Per Diem Non-Acute Care roles

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with IMCU and drip experience, who are comfortable working in a fast-paced critical care environment and have proficiency with Epic EHR.
