Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (EEG Tech)

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) monitoring and performing maintenance on EEGs.
- Cover inpatient EEG requests as needed.
- Must work holidays that fall during scheduled shifts.
- One weekend per month required.
- Start date: ASAP.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of EEG tech experience (including pediatrics).
- Experience with pediatrics is required.
Certifications & Licenses
- ACLS (AHA only)
- BLS (AHA only)
- PALS (AHA only)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- State license verification as applicable (VA state license required for CSTs and OR Techs; not required for EEG Tech).
- National certifications for EEG techs are not required, but clinical experience is mandatory.
Compliance & Background Checks

- FACIS Level 3
- Sex Offender Registry
- Education verification (proof of diploma accepted)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Fingerprinting required for pediatrics units and certain other units; results can pend but proof of submission must be on file.
- Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check Fingerprint Results required for certain units; results can pend if proof of submission is on file.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination required.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Q-gold/T-spot within 30 days of start or two PPDs as specified).
- TB questionnaire required annually.
- Titers and/or boosters required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination required.
- Drug testing within 60 days of start (9-panel minimum, instant drug screens not accepted).
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required for 2025-26 season.
Additional Requirements
- Must have EMU monitoring experience.
- All requested RTO (Return to Office) must be approved and placed in the contract.
- Candidates must complete required orientation modules and exams (e.g., Pharmacology Exam, Point of Care Testing, Airborne Precaution Mask Fitting).
- Required to complete Virginia Central Registry (CPS) submission process within 48 hours of contract signing; may start with results pending if submission is confirmed.
- Two professional references required.
- Complete application/resume required.
- Skills checklist must be updated annually.
