Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Mountain Home, Arkansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work in a Surgical Nursing environment with a focus on patient advocacy.
• Facility has 13 operating rooms averaging 650 cases per month.
• Surgical specialties include General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurological, Cardiovascular, Plastics, ENT, Urology, and Gynecological procedures.
• Utilize advanced technology such as DaVinci Surgical Robot, Navigational Spinal and ENT surgery, and Hybrid OR for vascular procedures.
• Provide direct patient care and leadership within the nursing team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team promoting evidence-based care and a healing culture.
• On-call required for weekday nights and every third weekend.

Requirements

Education & Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Current Arkansas or Compact State RN License in good standing.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
• No explicit prior travel experience required.

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) encouraged but not required.

Skills

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Basic computer knowledge required.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start. Annual updates required for direct candidates and those with assignment gaps over 30 days.
• National and state sex offender checks required within 30 days of start.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.

Certifications & Competencies

• Various certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification).
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams required as applicable.
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required and updated annually.
• NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start.

Health Requirements

• Physical exam required within 1 year of start (time sensitive: must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing).
• Immunizations and titers required or documentation of immunity/declination for:

  • TDAP (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing required (negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant tests not accepted).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31).
• COVID vaccination documentation required or exemption/declination notification.

Facility Specific

• Review and comply with personal appearance and dress code policies.
• Complete new employee and contract personnel pre-screening compliance checklist.
• Complete TB questionnaire regardless of TB test result.
• Complete required facility-specific orientation and compliance forms prior to start.

References & Work History

• Two professional references required within 2-3 years of start.
• Work history verification required for the past 2 years.
• Resume or employment application required.
• Skills checklist required and updated annually.
