Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (IR Tech) - Travel/Contract
Location: South Bend, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology)
- Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Call Requirements:
- On-call 1 day per week
- Weekend call every 3rd or 4th weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Weekend Requirement: On-call only
- Holiday Requirement: As needed
- Floating: None
- Daily Caseload: 10-15 cases per tech
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- Locals Accepted: No, traveler must live at least 50 miles away from the facility
- Pending State License: Accepted if active by start date
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Indiana
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Ability to scrub cases in Interventional Radiology
- Familiarity with wires in Interventional Radiology
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked in, required within 90 days of start
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts
- Physical exam
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire prior to start and annually
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cannabinoids, MDMA, methamphetamines, buprenorphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, cocaine, methadone, tramadol, benzodiazepines, morphine/opiate)
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start (flu season October–May)
- COVID vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption may be required (facility-specific)
- Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreements and photo for badge
Additional Information
- This is a stroke thrombectomy facility, emphasizing neurovascular IR skills
- Scrub color and charting system (Cerner) provided
- No floating required
- Must be able to work on-call weekends as scheduled
Prior Travel Experience

This role is ideal for IR Techs with at least 2 years of experience, including neurovascular IR, who are comfortable with on-call responsibilities and working in a high-volume acute care setting.
