Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3 PM - 3 AM
• Schedule: Weekends and holidays as needed; floating as needed (may float to Emergency Transitional Care Unit - ETCU)
• Unit: Emergency Department (74 beds) at a Level 1 Trauma Center with Comprehensive Stroke Center and Chest Pain Accredited Center of Excellence
• Additional Unit: ETCU (22 beds) with telemetry capability and negative pressure rooms; provides inpatient level care to holds and cross-training for ED tasks
• Trauma Level: Level I Trauma experience required
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years (higher value confirmed)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Blocked Schedule: Not approved
• Additional Info: May care for COVID patients; tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Required Credentials & Compliance

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • State RN License (primary source verification)
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) as applicable
  • NRP, NIH Stroke Certification, and other certifications as applicable
  • NURSYS Verification required

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start, must be finalized prior to start
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (Childline) required within 5 years; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days

• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Immunizations and titers: Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series), TDAP (within 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (vaccines or positive titers with boosters as needed)
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; chest x-ray if positive
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption/declination
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

• Documentation:

  • I9 or attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Education verification (highest level)
  • Employment application/resume
  • 2 professional references within 3 years
  • Skills checklist annually
  • Performance evaluations completed onsite during assignment
  • Photo for badge (passport-style, professional)
  • Various facility-specific agreements and acknowledgments (Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, Health & Wellness, Non-Employee Affidavit, etc.)

• Training:

  • Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start (PC/laptop required)
  • New hire orientation required by end of first day

• Floating may include rotation to Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU)
• Tobacco and fragrance-free environment
• First-time travel nurses will not be considered for this position
