PICU Registered Nurse

Job Overview

  • Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
  • Location: New Haven, Connecticut
  • Employment type: Per diem
  • Shift: Night shift, 12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Connecticut
  • PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (3 years of experience)
  • PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Trauma experience
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACLS certification
  • EPIC experience

  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Remote telemetry monitoring
  • NG tube insertion and management
  • Isolation precautions
  • Blood and blood product administration
  • Arterial line management
  • Central line blood draw and care
  • Phlebotomy

Schedule Expectations

  • Scrubs: Royal Blue
  • Flu declinations accepted
