Registered Nurse (Pediatrics) - Travel/Contract
Location: Tyler, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years pediatric nursing experience
- Previous Travel Experience: Required
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Additional Certifications (as applicable):
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- Licensure:
- State License verification required
- NURSYS Verification required for RN
- Skills Required:
- Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience
- Remote monitoring
- Starting IVs
- Preferred Skills:
- Cardiac telemetry
- ER holding
- Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Phlebotomy
- Heparin protocols
- Nasal cannula and portable oxygen tank use
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience required

Travel and Location Restrictions
- No local travelers from the following counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
Accounting Documents
- I9 form (for direct candidates)
- Driver’s License or State ID
- E-Verify (for direct candidates)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
- Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
- Core testing annually for subcontractors
Facility Specific
- Clear headshot photo for badge
Health Documents
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB Questionnaire (if positive TB test)
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella (Chicken Pox)
- Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 Vaccination (Dose 1 and fully vaccinated) or approved medical/religious exemption
Background and History
- 7-year background check updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire

- Unit-specific skills checklist annually
- Education verification (highest level)
- Work history verification for 7 years
- References:
- 2 professional references for travel/allied/per diem acute care
- 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care (within 2 years)
This position is ideal for experienced pediatric RNs with travel experience who meet the certification and compliance requirements and are comfortable working in a telemetry/medical-surgical pediatric setting with cardiac and post-surgical patients.
