Labor and Delivery

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Winston Salem, North Carolina
13-week assignment
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
36 or 48 hours can be offered
1:2 ratio
21 rooms/beds
Every other weekend required
Travelers will float within Women’s Services
No block scheduling guaranteed
RTO after booking is not allowed

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
Experience with Epic
Experience with IV Start and Circulate
Experience with at least 400 births per month
Experience with labor inductions
Experience with IUFDs (Intrauterine Fetal Demise)
Experience with multiple drips (Pitocin, magnesium, insulin)
Experience with preterm labor
Experience with multiple gestations
Experience with preeclampsia
Experience managing postpartum hemorrhage
Experience circulating in OR

Unit Details

14 weeks and above pregnant are seen in triage
20 weeks and above are in L&D
Resuscitation offered at 22 weeks and above
Labor and deliver in same suite
3 OR rooms/recovery

Amnio infusions
Epidural pumps
PCAs
Alaris pumps
Fluid warmers

Orientation / Onboarding

EPIC training
2 days on unit
2 half-days in OR
