Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Medical/Surgical Unit (Night Shift)
Location: New London, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Temporary

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to general medical/surgical patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Engage patients and families effectively and communicate clearly. Practice in accordance with New Hampshire nursing regulations and facility policies. May administer intravenous medications after completing state-approved training and with RN delegation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient/family education for stable patients.
- Review patient plans of care and active orders in the electronic medical record (EPIC) before providing care.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, nutrition, and hydration as ordered.
- Conduct focused assessments including vital signs, pain, skin/wound, drains/ostomies, fluid balance, and nutritional status.
- Administer oral, topical, inhaled medications, and possibly IV medications after approved training and RN delegation.
- Apply dressings and assistive devices as needed.
- Report assessment findings and care suggestions to the interdisciplinary team and supervising RN.
- Follow policies related to safety, medication administration, patient identification, specimen handling, documentation, attendance, and scheduling.
- Participate in required training, competency assessments, and staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current New Hampshire LPN license or Compact License (must be uploaded with profile).
- Minimum 2 years of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) experience in Medical/Surgical settings.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- IV certification strongly encouraged; on-site training available if needed.
- Must have a permanent address included in profile.
- Must have own vehicle for transportation to the assignment.
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment.
- Medical Surgical skills checklist current within 1 year.
Additional Information
- Prior travel experience is a strong plus but not required.
- Requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted and verified at the time of application; no more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted. Late requests may result in offer rescission.
- Local travelers are not eligible for this assignment.
- No orientation hours required for this assignment.
- Holiday and overtime multipliers apply as per facility policy.
