Physical Therapist (PT) - Acute Care / Inpatient Rehab

Location: Manhattan, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Acute Care experience required, including:

  • ICU
  • Cardiopulmonary
  • Acute Neuro
  • Post-op Orthopedics
  • General Surgery
• Inpatient Rehab experience including:

  • Acute stroke rehab
  • Post-trauma
  • Orthopedic
  • Medical deconditioning
• Work hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM (may vary with patient volume)
• Weekend rotation: 1 weekend every other month (Saturday and Sunday)
• Patient load: Average 4-8 evaluations per day plus 4-8 treatments per day
• Dress code: Black scrubs

Required Credentials & Compliance for Onboarding

• Professional Credentials:

  • Resume/Profile submission required
  • Two professional references required
  • Driver’s License/State ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements)
• Health & Immunization Requirements:

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Recent testing required with annual TB questionnaire
  • Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire (optional)
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be completed onsite (specific mask types required)
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Drug Screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Background Checks & Verifications:

  • Criminal background check including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender registry
  • EPLS check within 90 days of start
  • Employment verification for past 7 years
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
• Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually
• Assignment Confirmation: Documentation of assignment start/end dates required

Additional Notes

• All required documents must be current and compliant with facility and agency policies.
• Some credentials must be updated annually or if there is a break in service greater than 90 days.
• No declinations accepted for certain vaccines and immunizations.
• Masking policies apply during flu season for those exempt from influenza vaccine.

This position is ideal for Physical Therapists with strong acute care and inpatient rehab experience seeking a structured weekday schedule with occasional weekend rotations.
