Job Opportunity: Central Sterile Technician

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Responsible for performing sterilization procedures on medical instruments and equipment following established procedures, infection control standards, industry standards, recommended practices, and regulatory requirements. This position does not require patient care.

Essential Functions

• Process specialty and general instruments.
• Reset instrument sets without error.
• Decontaminate instruments and equipment according to procedure.
• Maintain Central Sterile Department stock levels.
• Prepare and assemble surgical trays and equipment following established tray listings for issue, storage, or further processing.
• Communicate instrument repair needs to supervisor.

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Central Sterile Technician, including experience within the last year.
• CRCST certification required.
• A high school diploma or its equivalent is required; experience cannot be substituted for this qualification.

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Submission of a recent color photo (no selfies, no filters, plain background).
• Primary source verification of professional license/certification within 30 days of start date.
• Documentation of immunizations or proof of immunity for MMR (measles, mumps, rubella).
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test).
• Physician health statement within 1 year of start date.
• Criminal background check and Massachusetts CORI check within 45 days prior to start date.
• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
• Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor-level reference.
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
• Confirmation of assignment form upon acceptance and for any start date changes.
• Additional background checks including SSN trace, national sex offender check, exclusion checks, and education verification as required.

Additional Information

• This role does not require prior travel experience.
• No patient care responsibilities.
• Must comply with all regulatory and facility-specific onboarding requirements.
