Cardiovascular Technologist (Cardiac Catheterization Technologist II)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Acts as a critical member of the patient care team in the Cardiac Catheterization department.
  • Collaborates with care team members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Promotes patient- and family-focused care in all interactions with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
  • Focuses on understanding and meeting customer needs.

Required Credentials & Certifications for Onboarding

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military certification accepted (AHA preferred).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support): AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military certification accepted (AHA preferred).
  • ARRT Certification
  • Professional License Verification: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start date; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted.
  • Fit Test: N95 respirator fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually. Must be completed on the MGB N95 Respirator Fit Test Record Form.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Documentation of vaccines or proof of immunity via blood test.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions allowed.
  • TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break.
  • Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
  • Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start date, including county and international searches if applicable.
  • Massachusetts CORI Check: Within 30 days prior to start date, updated if >6 month break.
  • Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) Attestation: Required if fit test is required for the skill.
  • Education Verification: Verified through background check company; highest level of education must be confirmed.
  • SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal check covering last 7 years.
  • National Sex Offender Check: Within 30 days of start, updated annually.
  • Exclusion Checks: OIG, GSA, MassHealth & NH Medicaid exclusion lists checked within 30 days of start and annually.

Required Documents for Submission

  • Resume: Past 7 years of work experience with city and state for all work and education.
  • References: Two recent references, at least one supervisor or above in the relevant skillset.
  • Skills Checklist: Required for submission.
  • Candidate Submission Coversheet: Current version required for submission.

Optional but Preferred

  • Hepatitis B Vaccination or Immunity Proof
  • Tdap Vaccine: Within 10 years, updated upon expiration.
  • Positive PPD - Negative Chest X-Ray: If applicable, documentation required.
  • TB Symptom Survey: If positive PPD, to confirm no symptoms of active TB infection.

Notes

  • No religious exemptions for fit testing or influenza vaccine.
  • Fit testing cannot be done onsite; must be completed prior to start.
  • All credentials and health requirements must be current and updated as specified.
