Job Opportunity: Central Sterile Technician

Location: Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Credentials and Certifications

• CST Certification (NBSTA or NCCT only) required for Massachusetts locations
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST or NBSTSA CST) certification required
• Professional License/Certificate Verification: Must be primary source verified within 30 days of start date and updated upon expiration. MA Conditional Licenses are not accepted.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• MMR Vaccine: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine OR two MMR vaccines, or proof of immunity via blood test
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 – April 30). No exemptions allowed.
• TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if there is a break >6 months
• Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
• Hepatitis B Vaccine: Strongly preferred (3 doses or proof of immunity or declination)
• Tdap Vaccine: Preferred within last 10 years
• Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) Attestation: Required if fit testing is needed for the role
• Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray: Required if applicable

Background and Professional Checks

• Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start, including county and international searches if applicable
• Massachusetts CORI Check: Within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
• Social Security Number Trace: Must be run with criminal check, covering last 7 years
• National Sex Offender Registry Check: Within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Exclusion Checks: Within 30 days prior to start and annually, including OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists
• Education Verification: Verified through background check company, confirming highest level of education and certifications required for the position
