Job Opportunity: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Summary
Provide nursing care in a long-term care (LTC) setting during night shifts. Responsibilities include observing residents’ mental and physical well-being, administering medications and treatments, supervising Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs), assisting with wound care including wound vacs, managing oxygen and feeding tubes, and communicating with physicians, residents, and families. The role involves unit management during shifts and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor residents continuously and report changes to supervisors and physicians.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered, with proper electronic documentation.
- Supervise LNAs and assign nursing staff duties consistent with scope of practice.
- Assist with wound care and use of wound vacs.
- Administer oxygen and gastrostomy/jejunostomy feedings per policy.
- Manage unit operations during shifts under direction of Nursing Supervisor or Director of Nursing.
- Complete resident admissions, discharges, transfers, and related documentation.
- Maintain infection control and ensure a safe, clean environment.
- Communicate with residents’ families regarding care and consent.
- Assist with orientation and education of new nursing staff.
- Follow controlled medication storage and documentation procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years current experience in LVN/LPN role (must be within the last 6 months)
- Certifications:
- IV Certification (must be willing to obtain during onboarding if not currently certified)
- BLS Certification
- Licensure: Active LVN/LPN license valid in New Hampshire
- Other Requirements:
- COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions accepted)
- Willingness to float to other units as needed
- Must have own transportation due to rural location and limited public transit
- Locals residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Preferred:
- Previous travel experience highly preferred (not required)
- Experience in rural or small facility settings highly preferred
Additional Information
- Dress code: Scrubs (matching top and bottoms)
- Overtime: Starts after 40 hours (for 36/40 hour contracts) or after 48 hours (for 48/60 hour contracts)
- Call-back pay applies with a minimum of 2 hours
- Orientation hours: 0
- Cancellation policy: Up to 3 shifts may be canceled per 13-week contract
- Flu vaccine: Annual seasonal flu vaccine required or declination with mask-wearing during flu season
- Timecard process: Clock in/out at facility; no paper timecards signed by managers

- The facility is located approximately 2 hours from Boston, MA, in a rural area with limited housing and public transportation options.
- Candidates must have reliable transportation.
