Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Temp Position

Location: St. Charles, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 8

Job Description

• Assist physical therapists in treating patients of all ages, from newborns to end-of-life care.
• Help patients stretch and exercise targeted muscle groups.
• Follow instructions from the physical therapist and collaborate directly to modify care as needed.
• Communicate with families to recommend effective at-home techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the physical therapy area.
• Assist patients in moving from wheelchairs or walkers to the therapy area.
• Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork.
• Teach patients techniques including balance training.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience in a Long Term Care setting

Additional Information

• Must submit resume, skills checklist (within 1 year), and 0-1 reference at time of application.
• Certifications must be current and AHA-approved.
• Candidates must comply with posted rate requirements.
• The facility specializes in LTC rehabilitation, including post-stroke rehab, orthopedics, joint replacements, amputees, neuro conditions, wound care, swallow dysfunction, cognitive therapy, pulmonary programs, balance enhancement, fall prevention, home evaluations, and family training.
