Registered Nurse – Telemetry
Location

Unit Description
- Medical Surgical/Solid Organ Transplant Unit (36-bed)
- Provides medical surgical, telemetry, and progressive care to adult pre- and post-liver, kidney, pancreas, intestinal transplant, and intestinal rehabilitation patients
- Adolescent patients (age 15+) cared for by core staff only
- Patient ratios: 1:5 days / 1:6 nights (night ratio may rarely be 1:7)
- Care teams include CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics; LPNs assigned on some floors
- Floating required frequently to meet staffing needs, including to multiple units and potentially to a nearby campus
- Facility is 100% nicotine free
Schedule
- Night shift: 4 shifts per 4-week period (12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekend shifts: 4 out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Saturday and Sunday days; Friday and Saturday nights)
- Holiday requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Nebraska
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Additional Requirements
- Must be prepared to float frequently within scope of practice
- Locals not accepted (must live more than 100 miles from facility)
- Scrubs: Steele gray scrubs with facility logo mandatory (provided after confirmation)
- Background check, drug screen, and multiple health and competency verifications required prior to start
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Physical exam, fit mask test, immunizations (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap), TB testing, and drug screening must be current and updated annually
- Flu vaccine preferred but not mandatory; documentation or declination required
- COVID vaccine preferred; medical/religious exemptions accepted
- References: 2 work references from past 2 years required
- Annual skills checklist required
