Shift Details

• Day shift, 3 shifts per week
• 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Total 36 hours per week

Unit and Patient Population

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Float Pool
• Will float to other MS/Tele units as needed
• Adult patient population
• Patient-to-nurse ratio typically 1:6, may flex to 1:7

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Licenses and Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Skills and Responsibilities

• Primary IV skills required (RT covers specialty IV)
• Ability to manage diagnoses associated with medical, surgical, and cardiac patients
• Self-scheduling and blocked scheduling allowed
• Every Other Weekend (EOW) availability required
• Preferred no return to origin (RTO) for holidays; exceptions may be considered for a single holiday
• Use of Cerner EMR system
• Scrubs color: Black

Candidate Requirements and Restrictions

• No first-time travelers for float pool positions
• No radius restrictions; local candidates accepted at the same rate

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during work hours
• Background check: 7-year criminal history check within one year of start, updated annually
• E-Verify or attestation proof required
• Drug screening: 9 or 15 panel drug screen within required timeframes
• Physical exam within 12 months stating ability to work without restrictions
• Fit mask test within 3 months of start (specific approved mask types)
• Immunizations and titers required or documented declinations for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or facility-specific declination during flu season
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with annual updates
• COVID vaccination preferred but not required; documentation collected if vaccinated
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel nurses
• Completion of facility-specific onboarding forms and online orientation modules prior to start
• Clear, passport-style photo for badge required
