Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job in Columbus, Ohio


Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Radiation Therapist)
  • Location: Columbus, Ohio
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM (8.5 hours with 30-minute lunch)
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours (10-hour shifts during holiday weeks to maintain 40 hours)
  • Weekends: No weekends required
  • On-Call: No on-call duties
  • Dress Code: Scrubs (black pants, any top)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in Ohio
  • Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT certification
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting results (Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting required under code 3701.881)
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
  • Education accreditation verification for relevant programs
  • Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership role)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
  • Tdap vaccination (adult dose after age 11/12) required; exemptions not allowed for those working with infants or pregnant patients
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters if low titer
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required unless medically exempted
  • Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); mask required if declining
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended; proof of primary vaccination collected if available

Competency and Training Requirements

  • Unit-specific competency exam required prior to start
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required for all RN/LVN candidates (not applicable here but noted)
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually
