Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech

Location: San Diego, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)

Job Description

• Perform 2D and 3D mammography imaging.
• Skilled in stereotactic biopsy procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Mammography Technologist license in California.
• Mammography Technologist experience within the last year (minimum 1 year).
• Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license.
• California Mammography Certification.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or RQI).
• Proficient in 2D and 3D mammography imaging and stereotactic biopsy skills.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of W4 on file.
• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, county, state, federal, and national criminal and sex offender searches (no international background checks required).
• HHS/OIG clearance.
• Primary source verification of California license within 30 days of start (visual verification with signature, initials, date, and title required).
• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) or chest x-ray within 12 months; annual updates required.
• Tdap vaccination (no declinations accepted).
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella immunity via 2 vaccines or titer; boosters required if negative or equivocal (no declinations accepted).
• Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or signed declination.
• 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start.
• COVID-19 vaccination required or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or agency declination required year-round.
• Proof of N95 fit test within 1 year prior to start; must use approved mask models.
• Two satisfactory professional references.
• Completed employment application and skills checklist.
• Completion of facility-specific learning modules (approx. 8 hours) prior to start.
• Signed facility-specific acknowledgments including Standards of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement.

Additional Notes

• No scrub color requirement; scrubs provided by facility.
• Experience with EPIC or Cerner electronic health records preferred; less than 6 months experience may require approval.
• Pyxis acknowledgment required for RNs and respiratory care practitioners (not applicable for this role).
• NIH Stroke Certification not required for this tech position.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification not required.
• Radiation badges are not required for this role.

This position is ideal for a Mammography Tech with solid experience in 2D/3D mammography and stereotactic biopsy, holding all required certifications and able to comply with comprehensive health and background screening requirements.
