Registered Nurse – EP Lab
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (30 hours per week)
- Option for 4x10 schedule with a 4th shift in the Cath Lab on Tuesdays (if Cath Lab experience)
- Shift hours: Day shift, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Ohio (State or Compact RN license)
- Minimum years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience required
- Willing to consider candidates with adult-only experience
- Two professional references required, including at least one supervisor/manager reference (Charge RN acceptable as one reference)
- Current government-issued photo ID matching legal name on RN license and certifications (no nicknames)
- Ohio Driver’s License address must be outside 60 miles of the facility to avoid being considered local
Certifications (Must be current and AHA-approved)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required for NICU RNs only
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – if applicable
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – if applicable
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked)
- Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or in-house verification if needed
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, Ohio Inmate Registry, Ohio Medicaid Exemption, and Ohio State Abuse Registry searches within 30 days of start
- Fingerprinting (OH BCI/FBI) required within 60 days of start; must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing contract
- Sex offender search required within 30 days of start
- Drug screen (9-panel) within 60 days prior to start, including amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, marijuana, fentanyl, and others
- Education transcript/diploma if in-house verification is incomplete by due date
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (candidates sign Infection Control Policy in lieu of physical copy)
- N95 fit testing within 1 year of start; annual update required
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start (must be completed after age 11)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within last 12 months (PPD or IGRA acceptable); additional requirements if positive
- Annual TB questionnaire and facility-specific TB form required
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity: positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no religious exemptions accepted
- Hepatitis B: declination, completed 3-vaccine series, or positive titer required
- Varicella immunity: positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Seasonal flu vaccine required between October 31 and May 31; medical/religious exemptions require facility approval and mask-wearing during flu season
- Tdap waiver and flu exemption forms required if applicable
Additional Requirements
- Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually
- Employment application or resume required
- Infection Control Policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Fingerprint screening questions must be completed prior to start
- Fit test proof of appointment required if testing onsite
Notes
- Candidates undergoing a name change must provide proof and receive approval
- Legal name on all documents must match exactly (including middle name if applicable)

- Background check and license hits must be reviewed and approved by compliance team before submission to facility
- Candidates with a 30-day or longer break between assignments, specialty/unit changes, or agency flips may require updated background checks, drug screens, and TB tests
This position offers a specialized travel nursing opportunity in an EP Lab setting with a flexible schedule option for those with Cath Lab experience. Compliance with detailed credentialing, background, and health requirements is mandatory.
