Shift Details

• Night shift
• 4 shifts per 4-week period
• 12 hours per shift (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Weekend shifts required: 4 out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Friday night and Saturday night for nights)

Unit and Patient Population

• Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with 20 beds
• Patient types include:

  • Total Knee and Hip replacements
  • Complicated orthopedic cases
  • Pulmonary, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses
• Behavioral health patients on secured floor (7th floor) including detox, dementia, and potentially violent patients
• Must be comfortable caring for behavioral health population

Staffing and Ratios

• RN to patient ratio: 1:5 during day shifts, 1:6 during night shifts (rarely 1:7 at night)
• Travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently to various units including neuro, trauma, observation, and others within the hospital system and potentially to a nearby campus

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nebraska
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
