Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift Ratios: 1:2
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: Yes
- Floating: Required to float between like units
- Block Schedule: Accommodations per unit needs
- Locals: Not accepted
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once every two weeks
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification only
- NIH Stroke Certification – Must be current and renewed every 2 years
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM) – verify per unit requirements
Licensure
- Must have a valid California RN license
- NURSYS verification required for all RNs
- CPDH Certificate required for all Respiratory Therapists working in CA
- Washington multi-state licensed nurses must complete demographic attestations if applicable
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Scheduling & Floating
- Floating between like units is required
- Weekend shifts every other weekend
- Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit needs
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification required for all candidates
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years from supervisors
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years required
- Skills checklist required annually for applicable units
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
- Fit mask test required for travel starts (updated annually)
Facility & System Requirements
- Must complete Providence Health and Services WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:
- Core modules for RN profession in California
- Specialty-specific modules if applicable (e.g., ER, L&D)
- Annual regulatory modules
- Epic training modules required; candidates must claim their Epic account and complete assigned modules
- Floating policy acknowledgment required
- Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background)
Additional Notes
- Facility uses Epic for charting
- Scrub color for RNs: Solid Royal Blue
- Locals and candidates with pending licenses are not accepted
- Facility offers free parking
- Guaranteed hours with possibility of being called off once every two weeks
