Job Opportunity: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Inpatient Rehab

Work Schedule

• Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: 1 Saturday per month (with a weekday off in the same week, arranged with Therapy Director)

Job Description

• Provide physical therapy assistance in outpatient and inpatient settings including swing bed, inpatient, observation, and extended recovery units.
• May float to other duties such as answering phones, assisting in One Day Surgery with bed cleaning, and helping patients to vehicles when census is low.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during work hours
• Proof of eligibility to work (I9, E-Verify, and attestations)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and Missouri-specific searches
• Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet physical demands of the position
• Fit test for N95 masks (updated annually, valid through contract)
• Immunizations or titers within 12 months for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Drug screening (9 or 10 panel including marijuana) within 12 months
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred but not required; medical or religious exemptions require facility approval
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Completion of employment application/resume
• Competency exams and orientation safety manual acknowledgment as required

Additional Notes

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position.
• Floating duties may be assigned based on census needs.
• Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the client for over 1 year.
