Registered Nurse – MS/Tele (Night Shift)

Shift Details
- Night shift
- 4 shifts per 2-week period (4x12 hour shifts)
- Hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Option for 36 or 48 hour shifts available
Unit Description
- 45-bed medical/surgical trauma unit (9 Trauma)
- Focus on acute and chronic care for hemodynamically and medically stable trauma patients
- Fast-paced specialty medical/surgical unit
- Patients admitted from Emergency Department, ICU transfers, or surgical/procedural services
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 days, 1:6 nights (rarely 1:7 nights)
- Drip management required on all floors
- EPIC electronic charting system used
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license valid in Nebraska (pending license accepted but must be in hand before start; booking delayed if not)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital
- BLS certification required
- Prior travel experience: First-time travelers NOT accepted unless they have 2 years experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable per unit
- Must be prepared to float frequently within scope to other units including Bellevue campus and various medical/surgical units
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during contract
- Locals not accepted (must live more than 100 miles from facility)
- 100% nicotine-free facility
Additional Requirements & Information
- Background check within 30 days of start, including multiple county/state/federal checks
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Drug screen within 60 days of start, updated annually
- Physical exam and fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations required: Tdap, MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer), Hepatitis B titer, Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer), annual PPD or equivalent TB testing
- Flu vaccine preferred but not mandatory; documentation or declination required
- COVID vaccine preferred; medical/religious exemptions accepted
- Annual skills checklist required
- Two professional references from past 2 years required
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required
- Parking permit available (~$55/month) or daily parking rates apply
- Scrubs mandatory: Steele gray scrubs with facility logo (provided after confirmation)
Scheduling & Time Off
- Weekend shifts: 4 out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (days: Sat/Sun; nights: Fri/Sat)
- Up to two weeks of time off (RTO) allowed; requests must be submitted with application and approved by manager
- Blackout dates for time off during College World Series: June 11–22, 2026
This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs comfortable with trauma and medical/surgical care in a fast-paced, academic medical center environment who are flexible with floating and holiday work.
