Job Opportunity: PCU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts (1900-0730)
• Patient ratio approximately 1:4
• Care for adult patients with acute cardiac, vascular, and thoracic needs
• Patient population includes post-op open heart day one, stents, devices, ablations, chest pain rule out
• Manage antiarrhythmic drips (amiodarone, cardizem) and heart failure drips (lasix, bumex, milrinone, dobutamine)
• Post vascular and thoracic surgeries care

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Montana
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Telemetry RN experience with telemetry skills
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Required Documents & Compliance

• Current and valid driver’s license, government photo ID, or passport
• Background check including 7-year history, must be renewed annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification of highest level completed
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, stating good health and ability to perform job duties
• Quantitative fit mask test within 90 days prior to start (3M mask, no qualitative tests)
• Immunizations and titers required or proof of immunity for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred within 10 years or signed declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray, renewed annually
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (positive IGG titer, 3 dose vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines)
• Negative drug screen within 30 days of start, renewed annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted
• COVID vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required

Additional Requirements

• Two references required, including one direct supervisor reference within the last year
• Current employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Employment verification preferred for last 5 years
• Skills checklist as applicable

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
• This is a night shift position with a focus on cardiac telemetry and post-op cardiac/thoracic care
• Candidates must be willing to travel and live at least 75 miles from the facility location
