Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Oncology
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Prior travel experience is required.
- Chemotherapy certification is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.
- Minimum of one year of oncology nursing experience, with oncology experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Copy of valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
- Annual respirator fit testing (Fit Mask).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with annual renewal.
- TB questionnaire required annually.
- 12-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start.
- Influenza vaccination exemptions allowed for medical or religious reasons with proper documentation.
- COVID-19 vaccination exemptions allowed for medical or religious reasons with facility-specific forms.
- Immunization documentation (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella) may be required per standard protocols.
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required.
- System access and confidentiality agreement must be signed prior to start.
- Completion of assigned Healthstream courses during orientation, including glucose testing demonstration if applicable.

- Verify specific certification requirements based on the assigned unit or specialty area.
- Prior travel experience is mandatory for this role.
- Chemotherapy certification is preferred but not mandatory.
