Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS/Tele

Location: Simpsonville, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Shift Details

• Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Floating to other hospitals/units may be required based on census and staffing needs
• Floating only to units where the nurse is qualified and competent

Patient Population

• Orthopedics
• Bariatrics
• Telemetry unit patients

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Registered Nurse specialty (MS/Tele)
• At least 2 years experience specifically in the MS/Tele field
• First-time travelers will be reviewed but preference is for those with 3+ years specialty experience

Required Skills & Systems

• Medication system experience: Pyxis
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC electronic health record experience

Required Certifications & Licenses

• South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., TNCC, ENPC, PALS, NRP, EFM) — verify based on assignment

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 12 months including 7-year history and alias searches
• Drug screening within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
  • Current Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (if applicable)
  • Flu vaccine or approved exemption (seasonal requirement)
  • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology testing
• Pass/fail testing for medication and arrhythmia (EKG) exams required prior to start
• Photo for badge with specific background and quality requirements
• Completion of online orientation modules within 72 hours of assignment acceptance

Additional Notes

• Floating policy requires signed acknowledgment annually
• Must carry valid driver's license for computer access setup and while on duty
• Fit testing for respirators will be completed onsite during orientation
• Candidates must complete all required online modules and pass all required tests before starting assignment
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required but first-time travelers will be reviewed carefully

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
