Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: North Kansas City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Cardiac Telemetry Float Pool position on nights. This role requires managing cardiac patients including titrating drips and caring for pre- or post-cardiac cath patients. Must be willing to float to different units as needed.

Schedule

• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Start: ASAP

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience titrating drips
• Experience with sheaths
• Experience with Cerner charting system

Health & Safety Requirements

• Flu shot required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with approved facility forms)
• COVID-19 vaccination required or acceptable facility-specific waiver form
• Fit mask testing onsite (no facial hair allowed)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Compliance with facility dress code (navy blue scrubs) and nail policy (no artificial/natural nails)
• Safe Medication Administration Agreement required

Background & Documentation

• Criminal background check covering all states/counties lived or worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and OIG checks required
• Missouri EDL search prior to start
• Verification of education and licensure (including NURSYS verification)
• Skills checklist and employment application/resume required
• 2 recent professional references

Additional Notes

• No block scheduling allowed
• Time off requests after submission will not be approved
• All HealthStream modules and facility-specific training must be completed during orientation
• Candidates must be prepared for a rigorous orientation including skills checklists signed off by preceptors

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs with strong cardiac skills and prior travel contract experience who are flexible and able to work night shifts in a fast-paced environment.
