Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (Pediatrics) - Travel/Contract

Schedule & Work Details
- Shift: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
- Option to consider Monday to Friday, 5x8 hour shifts
- No weekend shifts required
- No on-call duties
- Holidays: Facility closed on holidays
- Charting system: EPIC
- Block scheduling: Monday to Thursday with option for Monday to Friday
- Excessive callouts (more than 2-3 days) during contract period may affect contract status
- Locals accepted within radius rule
- First-time travelers not accepted
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist license in New Jersey (pending license accepted; must apply upon acceptance, estimated 6 weeks for processing)
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist experience, with experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) including:
- Social-pragmatic therapy
- AAC implementation
- Play-based intervention
- Caregiver coaching
- Interdisciplinary collaboration
- Experience with Trisomy 21 including:
- Early language intervention
- Total communication (sign/AAC)
- Articulation therapy
- Experience with Mixed Receptive-Expressive Language Disorder including:
- Vocabulary and grammar development
- Auditory comprehension
Clinical Skills & Patient Population
Experience with pediatric outpatient rehabilitation (birth to 21 years)
Patient diagnoses include developmental, neurological, genetic, and speech-language disorders
Expertise in:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): social-pragmatic therapy, AAC implementation, play-based intervention, caregiver coaching, interdisciplinary collaboration
- Trisomy 21: early language intervention, oral-motor support, total communication (sign/AAC), articulation therapy, family education
- Mixed Receptive-Expressive Language Disorder: vocabulary and grammar development, auditory comprehension, curriculum-based intervention, IEP goal writing
- Articulation/Phonological Disorder: sound production therapy, phonological approaches, motor-based techniques, home programs
- Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS): DTTC, motor learning principles, intensive practice, AAC support
- Fluency Disorders: fluency shaping, stuttering modification, CBT-informed strategies, self-advocacy, family/teacher collaboration
Skilled in Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC): selecting and implementing unaided and aided systems (PECS, communication boards, SGDs), aided language modeling, caregiver and educator training, supporting functional communication across settings

Required Documentation & Compliance
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start
- Physical exam within the past 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
- Drug screen within 30 days of start
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Background check within 30 days of start, including alias searches and multiple levels of screening
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
- Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
- Various competency exams and certifications as applicable (e.g., medication test, pass/fail testing)
- Completion of annual education and safety training
- Respiratory medical clearance and fit testing if applicable
- Latex allergy screening questionnaire if applicable
