Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU Experience Required

Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics with Level IV NICU experience
  • Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Floating: Yes, within hospital only (no floating to sister hospitals)
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, as needed by unit
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Locals accepted
  • On-call: No

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Washington
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Additional Requirements & Information

  • Block scheduling accommodations generally not available unless specified
  • Maximum 1 week restriction on return to office (RTO)
  • Guaranteed hours subject to census; may be called off or placed on-call in 4-hour increments up to one shift in a 2-week cycle
  • Facility uses EPIC for charting
  • Scrubs provided for OR personnel; any scrub color acceptable
  • Parking cost approximately $10.26 daily

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start
  • Various background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search, and state-specific searches
  • Education verification or diploma/transcript required
  • Certifications required (AHA standards):
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Physical exam and fit mask test required (fit test within 12 months)
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination)
    • Varicella (titer or vaccination)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination
    • COVID vaccination or declination documentation for tracking
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within one year of start (required by agency)
  • Additional facility-specific training and agreements required prior to start (e.g., photo for badge, department checklists, email setup, flu documentation)

Notes

  • Performance evaluations may be requested at the end of each assignment
  • Radiation badges are not provided by the agency for new candidates; must be supplied by the facility if needed
  • Suicide prevention training and demographic attestations required for nurses using multi-state licenses (not applicable to RRTs)

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with strong NICU skills who are flexible to work night shifts and multiple care areas within a hospital setting.
