Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards and nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff.
- Coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional judgment, and supervisory discretion.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum of 1 year of recent ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, HS-BLS, or RQIBLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Essential Functions
- Collect and analyze patient health data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide safe, effective care.
- Provide education to patients, families, and team members.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Delegate and coordinate duties among healthcare team members.
Compliance & Organizational Requirements
- Must comply with all required vaccinations as a condition of employment; medical and religious exemptions may apply.
- Background checks covering the last 7 years required prior to start.
- Drug testing required within 30 days before start.
- Physical exam required within 90 days of start.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 30 days of start and updated annually.
- Immunizations or documented immunity required for: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption.
Additional Requirements
- Current picture identification required.
- Color photo (passport style) required for badge.
- Must complete orientation, privacy/security, confidentiality, code of conduct, and compliance education acknowledgements prior to start.
- Required to wear navy blue scrubs; scrubs provided for Labor & Delivery and OR nurses.
- Must complete unit-specific skills checklist.
- References: 2 clinical references verified within one year of start.
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history required.
Notes
- N95 fit testing preferred; accommodations for PAPR use require approved medical or religious exemption.
- Some certifications and competencies require annual renewal.
- Facility-specific training and quizzes must be completed prior to start.
