Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Lees Summit, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Unit: Emergency Room (ER)
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty
- First-time Travelers: Not accepted
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, every third weekend or 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (Friday/Saturday/Sunday combination)
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, may float within scope to other metro emergency departments and units as needed
- Holiday Shifts & Charge RN: May be required as needed
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (home address must be at least 75 miles from facility)
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 3 shifts per 13 weeks
- Facility Type: Community Hospital with 240 staffed beds
- Charting System: EPIC
- Scrub Color: Navy
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Background Checks: Criminal background check within 6 months required, including statewide and nationwide searches

- Competency Exams: Unit-specific competency exams required annually, including dysrhythmia/EKG competency within 12 months
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year
- Fit mask testing (N95) annually
- Immunizations and titers: Tdap, TB screening, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Drug testing within 1 year, must include standard panels
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Facility Policies: Must review and sign policies including hand hygiene, dress code, fingernail policy, confidentiality, latex allergy questionnaire, HIPAA acknowledgment, and regulatory compliance education annually
- References: Two professional references required, preferably supervisors within the last year
- Skills Checklist: Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
Required License
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Missouri

- Floating between departments and facilities may be required to meet staffing needs
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Must comply with all facility-specific onboarding and compliance requirements prior to start
