Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS/Tele Float

Location: Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Job Description

• Position in the float pool; traveler will float to Medical-Surgical (MS), Telemetry units, and Rehab as needed.
• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours at night, every other week (EOW).
• Candidate will undergo clinical screening to determine fit before final manager interview.
• May care for COVID-19 patients.
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
• Expected to work 1 of 2 major upcoming holidays (July 4 or Memorial Day).
• Weekends and holidays as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, with Telemetry experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Tech Cert Verification - National
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required.

Orientation & Onboarding

• Rapid turnaround time (RTO) for start: maximum 7 days.
• New hire orientation required, to be completed by the end of the first day.
• Completion of assigned online learning modules prior to start date.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG.
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days.
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance required; may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days.
• PATCH (Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History) search required and must be finalized prior to start.
• Education verification of highest degree.
• Employment application and recent resume.
• Two professional references within 3 years.
• Annual skills checklist.
• Performance evaluations completed onsite during assignment.
• Photo for badge (passport-style, professional).

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series)
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted. For positive results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required.
• Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• COVID-19 vaccine or valid exemption/declination accepted.
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (requirement for agency only, not facility).
• Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year and renewed annually.

Additional Notes

• Floating assignments may include MS, Telemetry, and Rehab units.
• Candidate must be prepared to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance-free; candidates should be aware.
• Some assignments may involve care of COVID-19 patients.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with floating between units and working night shifts in a travel/contract role.
