Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse

Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Description

• MedSurg RN position with every other week (EOW) schedule
• Float position with possible charge nurse duties as needed
• Option for 4x12 hour shifts
• ASAP start preferred
• Patient population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Nurse-to-patient ratio approximately 1:6
• Skills required: IV starts, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred but not required
• 30-minute lunch break required, no skipped meals

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)
• Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1+ year MedSurg experience preferred
• Prior travel experience: Preferred but not required

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in last 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification (official transcript, diploma, or third-party verification) required
• NURSYS verification required prior to start
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tdap vaccination or declination within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (Qgold, Tspot, or PPD) within 12 months
  • MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella vaccination, history, or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined)
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Skills checklist required annually

Additional Information

• Locals within a 60-mile radius considered
• 30-minute lunch break mandatory, no skipped meals
• Must review and sign traveler attendance policy prior to start

This position is ideal for a MedSurg RN with solid clinical skills, some trauma experience, and flexibility to float and possibly take charge as needed. Travel experience is a plus but not mandatory.
